Back Up & Running
Sorry for the delay. This blog’s passcode was inadvertantly changed and only recently discovered and corrected. I run two other blogs but promise to be on top of things again.
In local area news, the San Bernardino County Health Department reported a positive test for West Nile Virus Lake Arrowhead today. Vector Control collected the dead robin from the area July 5th.
The discovery has promoted the testing of mosquitoes in the area the community wll be checked for mosquito-breeding sources. No human infections have been reported in the County. Residents are reminded to “fight the bite:”
•Drain or dump all standing water around your property.
•Avoid going outside at dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most active
•Dress for protection with shoes, socks, and long pants and long-sleeved shirts that are loose fitting and light colored.
•Apply insect repellent containing DEET.
•Make sure doors and windows have tight-fitting screens.
If you have significant mosquito problems, standing water or green pools where you live, call the Vector Control Program at 800-44-ABATE .
