I was asked by the zoo to paint her foot while she was painting. This was back in 1970 when I was 5 years old. I can still remember that experience...I was so fascinated with that huge lovely creature. My Mom was given a letter from the San Diego Zoo stating that the picture would appear in one of their magazines. I'm sadden to discover that Carol was put to sleep. I often times thought about going back to see if she was still at the zoo...now I wished I had. It's interesting to learn that there are other people who have Carol's paintings.
